Advanced Product Design Engineering - Master

About the course

In 2013, a master's degree course in "Advanced Product Design Engineering" was opened at the "Machine elements and non-metallic constructions" department. It offers joint training with the Department of "Engineering Design" with the aim of preparing professionals who combine the accuracy and precision of science, technology and engineering with the inspiration and creativity of design to achieve market success through innovation.

Why choose this specialty?

Preparing engineers who also have design knowledge is a global trend in engineering education. In this master's degree, specialists are trained to reasonably and competently apply modern materials and technologies for innovative products with high technical capabilities, rationality, ergonomics and an attractive appearance.

What are the entry requirements?

This master's degree is intended for a wide range of specialists and can be applied for by graduates of the bachelor's and / or master's degree in all specialties in the field of 5. “Technical Sciences”, as well as professional fields 4.5 “Mathematics” and 4.6 “Informatics and computer science”.

What do you study?

Students are trained in artistic, ergonomic and computer design, modeling and analysis of specific products (household products, transportation vehicles, packaging, etc.) and the equipment for their production. It is these products that have been chosen as design objects because they are the engineering products that are directly oriented towards the mass consumer and because they are the products that require a lot of design thinking and conceptual design. Students are given the opportunity to master modern methods and technologies for modeling objects, both in their applied aspect for software realization using a high-end CAD system (Autodesk Inventor), and for learning new methods in design, design and analysis of new products and the improvement of known products.

Opportunities for student mobility

Through the Erasmus+ program, diploma theses can be developed in companies such as Daimler-Chrysler, Brabus, etc., or to participate in international projects and exchange programs. Leading Bulgarian and foreign companies processing and trading in polymers and polymer products are in constant contact with the department of Machine Elements and Non-Metallic Structures for the recruitment of new staff or specialized training of their engineering staff in the degree of “master” or “doctor”. Scholarships, internship opportunities and starting work are provided.

Graduates of the specialty " Advanced Product Design Engineering" can have a different creative career: as design-designers, consultants, entrepreneurs, people with free professions, as well as within companies and corporations in all branches of the economy, science and education.
